It’s happened before. But never this big. This year, more Regions Bank associates – at a growing number of facilities – are signing up to support veterans at Lakeshore Foundation.
The support comes through Regions’ annual initiative to raise funds for Lima Foxtrot, a sports, fitness and recreation program for severely injured members of our Armed Forces. Over the last several days, Regions associates at the company’s Riverchase Operations Center, Lakeshore Operations Center, and Riverchase North and South corporate offices, have been buying custom-designed Lima Foxtrot T-shirts.
Demand was so strong, the company has been ordering more and more shirts to meet the need.
And on Friday, Nov. 10 – the day before Veterans Day – hundreds of Regions associates will wear the shirts to work, and Regions leaders will present a check from T-shirt proceeds to leaders from Lakeshore Foundation.
The check presentation will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the atrium of Regions’ Riverchase Operations Center at 2090 Parkway Office Circle in Hoover. Media are encouraged to attend.
This is the fifth year Regions associates have participated in the T-shirt sales. The initiative began within Regions’ Enterprise Operations department in 2013 and has since spread to include other departments throughout Regions’ Riverchase and Lakeshore facilities. Tens of thousands of dollars have been raised in support of injured service members. Lakeshore Foundation staff members are also purchasing shirts to show their own personal support for the veterans and families they serve each day.
Lakeshore recently completed its 12th year of Lima Foxtrot programs, which have now provided family-oriented, adapted recreation and sports opportunities to more than 2,600 service members and their families from 46 states.
