Chace Landing
The Urban Barn is opening a second location off of U.S. 31.
There is no set opening date for the 1,699 square foot store, which will be in Chace Landing., but owner Colleen Burback said she hopes the store will open in October. She decided to open a second location when many customers asked about bringing The Urban Barn closer to them.
"A lot of my customers from the Riverchase area drive all the way over to Lee Branch, and they were always asking me, 'Why don't you put one over there?'" Burback said.
Suzanne Flanagan, marketing coordinator for commercial real estate agency Shannon Waltchack, said the boutique will help diversify the shopping center.
“I know Urban Barn is a really popular boutique on 280, and I think shoppers in Hoover will enjoy the convenience of one of their favorite retailers on this side of town as well,” Flanagan said.
The Urban Barn’s lease also filled the final bay in Chace Landing, bringing the building to 100 percent capacity. Flanagan said reaching full capacity is an exciting occurrence for Shannon Waltchack.
“It definitely takes some time, I think it definitely speaks to the health of the market,” Flannagan said. “And obviously Hoover is rapidly growing, so it’s a great place to be.”
The Urban Barn also has a location in The Village at Lee Branch off of Doug Baker Boulevard. Burback is also opening a bath and body store in Lee Branch by the end of the month. Once that store opens, Burback said they will be able to focus more on the new The Urban Barn.
"It's exciting. Like I said, we're opening a totally different store too, so everything is just a whirlwind," she said. "But it's working out."
