Charles Burkett's Hoover team participated in the 2015 Steel City Invitational
Hoover hit eight three-point shots in the first half and won easily against Bessemer City, 83-62, in the Steel City Invitational on Tuesday.
The Bucs shot 80% (8-of-10) from behind the arc in the first half, with Kevy Eason and Tavian Roundtree combining to hit all five of their attempts. Matthew Rickman aided in the good start, with eight points of his own in the first quarter.

The game turned into a foul fest in the second half, but Bessemer City never got back into the contest.
At the tournament held at Samford's Pete Hanna Center, the Bucs fell to Woodlawn on Saturday and defeated Pelham on Monday to leave with a 2-1 record.
Micah Fuller, who left the game in the third quarter after a fall but returned midway through the fourth, led the Purple Tigers with 30 points on 10-of-19 shooting.
Hoover's shooting never cooled off, as they hit 55% from the floor. The rebounding edge for the Bucs was significant, especially on the defensive end. The Bucs won the overall edge 37-24 but outrebounded Bessemer City 30-14 on the defensive glass.
