Cadet Jason Agsalud of Hoover has completed basic training at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Agsalud entered West Point on June 27 for an intensive six-week program that included mountaineering, first aid, rifle marksmanship, hand grenades and nuclear, chemical and biological training.
Classes began on Aug. 15, and Agsalud anticipates graduation in 2020 to be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army. Agsalud is a Hoover High graduate and the son of Butch and Andrea Agsalud.
