Hoover police have arrested a Birmingham woman in connection to a car break-in and credit card theft which occurred in June, according to a HPD press release.
Police obtained warrants for three charges of fraudulent use of a credit card against Chryseis Sonyaneice Wilson, 38. The total bond is $7,500.
Wilson is in Birmingham City Jail on unrelated charges, according to police, and she will be transferred to Jefferson County Jail upon her release from Birmingham City Jail.
On June 12, the victim of a car break in that occurred on Kelly Lane reported credit cards, among other items, were reportedly stolen from their car. The credit cards were then used at multiple locations including the Chevron on Lorna Road, McDonald’s on Highway 31, Walmart on Montclair Road and a Shell Gas Station off the Birmingham Airport exit, according to the release.
Investigators got video surveillance of the incidents and posted photos on social media, asking the public to help identify the suspect. The photos were posted on June 27, and a detective on the case received a citizen tip the following day.
“Hoover Police is thankful for citizens that are willing to come forward and give us information. Without that piece of the puzzle, many crimes would go unsolved," said officer Brian Hale in an email. "However, another criminal is behind bars because of the active participation of the public.”
