Advanced Technology Recycling, a new business opening this month in Hoover, is planning an E-waste drive. The business is located at 3431 Lorna Lane.
According to a release from the Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce, the drive will be held Jan. 18 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. during which time Advanced Technology Recycling’s Southeast General Manager Rick Spikes will recycle one item per customer at no charge.
Currently, with technology advancing at an increasing rate, this trend of discarding outdated or broken electronics is projected to increase, the release states. E-waste is considered the fastest growing waste stream in the world.
The Chamber will hold a Ribbon Cutting at Advanced Technology Recycling the day before the drive. The event is scheduled for Jan. 17 at 11 a.m.
